Hello, and welcome to Recipes Hunter — I’m Thomas Bellamy, and I’m beyond excited to have you here.
From a very young age, I was always drawn to the kitchen. Not because I had to be there, but because I wanted to. I was the kind of kid who would stand on a chair just to watch my grandmother roll out pasta dough on Sunday mornings or sneak into the pantry to explore spices I couldn’t even pronounce yet. That fascination only grew stronger over the years — and somewhere between those pots and pans, I found something deeper than just cooking. I found a passion that would shape my life.
Growing up in a small town in northern Italy, food wasn’t just fuel — it was ritual. It was how we showed love, celebrated milestones, and gathered together. I remember how my father would return from the local market with bags filled with fresh seafood, or how my mother would slow-cook beef ragu for hours until the whole house smelled like comfort. These moments, simple as they may seem, left a deep mark on me.
Our family kitchen was always buzzing. Every Sunday, relatives would pour in — aunts with baskets of bread, cousins stirring sauces, my grandfather telling stories while slicing cheese. It wasn’t just cooking; it was communion. I learned that the best recipes weren’t just about ingredients — they were about people, history, and the love you put into every bite.
But like many journeys, mine didn’t begin with a clear path. After university, I spent years working a corporate job that looked good on paper but never filled my heart. I’d spend my lunch breaks reading food blogs, collecting recipes, and watching cooking tutorials. Cooking became my escape — the only time I felt truly present and alive.
Then came 2020 — the year everything changed. Stuck at home like most of the world, I turned to my kitchen more than ever. I cooked every single day, experimenting with flavors, tweaking family recipes, and sharing meals (virtually) with friends. And that’s when it hit me: maybe food was never meant to be just a hobby. Maybe it was always the calling.
That period also taught me how much people craved connection — and food became a way to bridge that gap. Friends started asking for recipes. Strangers discovered my posts and responded with enthusiasm. I realized that what I was doing mattered to others as much as it did to me.
That’s how https://recipeshunter.net/ was born. I didn’t just want to create another recipe site — I wanted to create a home for food lovers, curious cooks, and anyone looking to rediscover the joy of homemade meals. Recipes Hunter is where flavor meets storytelling. Every dish here tells a tale — sometimes from my own heritage, other times inspired by travels, trends, or reader suggestions.
Recipes Hunter is more than a blog. It’s a growing library of trusted, tested, and treasured recipes — all designed to be accessible no matter your level in the kitchen. It’s about simplicity, depth of flavor, and the shared love of food.
The four core categories I focus on — Chicken, Beef, Seafood, and Pasta — weren’t chosen at random. These are the dishes that bring people together, no matter where they’re from. They’re versatile, flavorful, and they form the backbone of so many amazing meals around the world.
These categories also reflect my own food journey. Chicken dishes that feel like comfort. Pasta that reminds me of home. Beef prepared in ways that span continents. Seafood that brings the ocean into your kitchen. They represent the heart of my cooking philosophy.
But beyond the food, what matters most to me is the connection. I want Recipes Hunter to feel like a conversation between friends — not a lecture, not a trend factory. Whether you’re here for a quick dinner idea or to dive deep into culinary technique, I hope you find something that speaks to you.
Cooking has taught me patience, creativity, and humility. Every failed dish taught me something. Every successful meal gave me joy. It’s this journey — of experimenting, sharing, and learning — that I now want to share with you.
Every recipe on this site is tested, tasted, and treated with care. I don’t believe in gatekeeping good food, and I certainly don’t believe you need fancy tools or years of training to cook something incredible. All you need is a little guidance, a pinch of curiosity, and an appetite for something great.
I also believe that cooking should be inclusive. Whether you’re cooking for two or twenty, vegan or omnivore, a seasoned chef or a curious beginner — there’s something here for you.
My dream for Recipes Hunter is to build a global table — a space where recipes from all corners of the world can be explored and enjoyed. As much as I love traditional Italian cooking, I also love learning from other cultures and discovering how different ingredients, spices, and methods bring people together.
The blog reflects that. While grounded in the familiar, it’s always open to the new. That’s the spirit of food — it evolves, it travels, and it brings stories with it.
So why do I love cooking? Because it’s never just about the food. It’s about the people. The stories. The smells that remind you of home. The joy of discovering a new flavor. The comfort of an old favorite. It’s about creating something from nothing — and then sharing it with the people you love.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you. I’m truly grateful you’re here. Take a look around, try a recipe or two, and don’t be a stranger. Recipes Hunter is as much yours as it is mine.
Whether you’re here to learn, to cook, or simply to feel inspired, I hope you feel at home.
